OPUS Archives and Research Center, located on the campuses of Pacifica Graduate Institute, is free and open to the public. The archival holdings are held on the 34 acre educational and retreat center on Ladera Lane. The Joseph Campbell and Marija Gimbutas libraries are located on the Lambert Road campus, formerly a private estate.

Archival Collections
The archives includes manuscripts, papers, images, media, books, and artifacts of scholars in the fields of depth psychology, archetypal psychology, mythological studies, the humanities and related fields. Currently the archival collections can be accessed in person by appointment only. We require at least two weeks notice and information on your topic in advance so that we may prepare for your visit. The Campbell and Gimbutas Library is open Sundays 2:00pm to 4:00pm, or call to schedule an appointment for other days and times.
Library Collections
The Joseph Campbell Library contains over 3,000 books covering the various fields of mythology, literature, art, philosophy and religion. A number of the volumes are rare and many of the books contain Campbell’s marginalia.
The Marija Gimbutas Library holds over 1,600 books with an extensive collection on archaeology, as well as numerous volumes about religion, anthropology, linguistics, mythology, folklore, and art.
